Workstations Unable to Connect

I just installed Openfire on my server

IP 10.10.11.100

Installed successfully, LDAP, and runs smoothly.

I also installed Spark on the Server, and I’m able to log in, no problems.

I installed Spark on my work stations, which are 10.10.12.*, however, they are unable to connect. The workstations can ping the server.

Any ideas?

from the openfire server: use telnet on port 5222 to connect to openfire. If you are able to connect, than openfire is listening.

Next from the workstation, do the same thing. Use telnet to connect to port 5222 on your openfire server. If you can’t connect, than you have a network issue…ie firewall is likely blocking the port you need.
