anyone have any idea of where to go from here ?

what did you install this on and what version of java are you running?

from some searches, you are either maxed out on system socket connections (not related to openfire) or you are using a combo of OS and java version that is giving problems with java I/O api.

so if its the first then close some stuff for freaks sake

if its the second, try a different version of java

someone else may have a better answer

It is running on a Dell blade server PE2950 with 4 gigs of ram under Server Std Edition 2008, as far as the Java version I couldn’t find out because when I typed java -version at a cmd prompt it said: “java” is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file.

he is on windows. beyond that we do need more specifics. What version of windows, what database, are you using LDAP, is your LDAP (if used) Active Directory,

If LDAP: what is your baseDN, adminDN, etc

C:\Program Files\Openfire

I guess I should have read more carefully

is openfire starting up as the same user you typed java -version?

can you install java on this machine?
