Problem with Spark 2.8 and Timestamps in Chat History

Hi,

Since the update to Openfire 4.0.3 we have Problems with our Spark Clients and the Chat history.

The Chat history will be disorderd.

Other Clients like Pidgin don’t have this Problems.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Martin

I have filed a ticket for this a while ago https://issues.igniterealtime.org/browse/SPARK-1757 As it was filed before 4.0.3 was released, i don’t think it is related to Openfire (but could be, as the server at igniterealtime.org is running the latest alpha code). There is also a comment, that same was happening with 2.7 version of Spark (haven’t noticed myself). But most probably this is Spark’s issue in 2.8.x, especially when it shows correctly in other clients. There are no regular java developers working on Spark, so don’t know when this can be fixed.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, we had this Problem also with Spark 2.7.

One of our Java developers mentioned, that there were some changes in the attributes:

up to Openfire 3.x the delay Information was stored in: jabber:x:delay

now they use: urn:xmpp:delay

I’m not a developer, but maybe this Information could help?

Maybe you can add this Information to the JIRA ticket.

Yes, this might be related to https://issues.igniterealtime.org/browse/SPARK-1673

As since 3.10.3 dropped support for obsolete XEP-0091 which used jabber:x:delay. CSH has fixed this for regular offline messages. Maybe muc history still has this code. Will add this info to the ticket. Thanks.

The Problem still exists in Spark 2.8.3 (Build 960) with Openfire 4.1.3.

Hope this Problem will be fixed soon

we still have this issue, any news to this?
