MySQL to SQL Server?

I have an openfire setup running without any problems on Windows with MySQL. However, in the near future I’ll need to install SQL Server on the same server computer as required by some other programs running on the same server. How easy or difficult is it to transfer the data from MySQL to SQL Server should I want to consolidate the MySQL database to SQL Server? I could use something like EMS Data Pump to do the actual data transfer… but are the schemas compatible so that db-to-db transfer will succeed (and preferably so that Openfire will be operational afterwards, using the new database ).

Thanks for any insights on this!

Hi,

this is something you want to test. A lot of people did (try) to migrate from HSQLDB to MySQL but I never saw posts of successful migrations.

Please post your results in Migration from embedded-db to MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, ….
