Non-Jive Openfire Plugins

There’s a lot of neat plugins that folk are working on here and there that integrate with Openfire. Here is a short list of all of the ones we’ve stumbled across. Let us know if you have others that you want listed! Note that some of these may just be getting off the ground so there may be nothing to actually download yet.

Chat and Message Logging

Filters and Blockers

  • FileTransferDisabler: Automatically rejects FileTransfer requests

  • File Transfer Disabler: This plugin is used to automatically reject all File-Transfer requests to OpenFire server

  • Raptor: Traffic controller, similar than PacketFilter, but better performance and much more features.

vCard

Monitoring

Bots, Broadcasts, Various

Without homepage or source code:

  • webMUC: A web based MUC, without XEP-0124 and without AJAX (@LG working on it more or less).

Way to go LG!!! So, when would be the first alpha release?

http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/plugins-beta.jsp has a vCard Service, but there is little interest in it. I guess that most users prefer their existing systems or Clearspace to display user information.

Sorry I’ve got you confused. What I meant was, when do you plan to publish your first webMUC alpha release?

Awesome LG, I’m glad someone ported this list over! I’m also excited to see there’s a community plugins forum! Did you spearhead that??

(btw, I’ve used your vcard plugin before worked quite well!)

I would like to see the plugins (at least the completed ones) posted as separate documents containing an explanation of the functionality, installation instructions, limitations, etc. You can use the Packet Filter Plugin from natep as an example.

I just think it will be easier for people to find plugins this way, and each one can be rated separately as part of the document rating. We’re doing something similar on Jivespace, and it is working pretty well.

We might even want to turn this document into a list of work in process (not yet completed) plugins.

One should really create a new discussion instead of abusing the comments section for things like. I’ve little time at the moment as it’s summer, so my nights at home are very short, so the plugin is in an unstable state and not ready for anything. I could of course release some documentation of all the planned things.

It was aznidin who did ask for a “Plugins Sub-Com”.

As every plugin which is released on the JS page has a README I’m not sure if one would like to copy it into a new plugin document as no one wants to maintain two documents with the same content. I may add in a document here generic information, probably also about the activity of the project.

Hey LG, ya know what? You’re right, and I’m abusing it now :-). And that’s dangerous. AFAIK unlike a “discussion” object where admin can delete/move/branch/etc the “message” objects it contains, “comment” objects in a “document” can’t be managed. It will be there forever, unless some system admin modifies the Clearspace db table directly, but that’s crude!

Soon, there’ll be several documents for a single plugin and they get clutter up with the other plugins’ documents. Jivespace may work pretty well now but who knows, the time might come…

You write or post

webMUC: A web based MUC, without XEP-0124 and without AJAX (it2000 working on it).

Where is information about webMUC: A web based MUC, without XEP-0124 and without AJAX (it2000 working on it). if you look in any google or seen there are any information about this only in ignite.

Please when you post speek with reference a really url

This is no a Url http://webmuc/ or this http://webvcard/

You forgot this vCard plugin for us LDAP users: http://www.eyecraft.ch/coding/ldapvcardavatar/

I removed the IP plugin since it doesn’t work. Read more about it in this thread: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/thread/29402

Moved the homepage of the LDAP VCard Avatar plugin here:

Remembot throws errors with openfire 3.4.1 and 3.4.2.

The plugin-system does not handle that exception correctly and presence-messages get lost.

Heya, there is a auth provider on http://blog.guruz.de/jdbccryptauthprovider-for-openfire/ available for download. It supports crypt() passwords from JDBC.

Where can I got the source code of Open Source plugins of Openfire?

I added a link to the Mucho plugin. It is a component for Openfire that spawns users that joins group-chat rooms and echoes all messages, sent to the user, to that room.

remembot is probably very wrong! see http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/message/20042
