Jive Messenger to be Open Source!

Hey all,

We''re pleased to announce that Jive Messenger is going to be Open Source. The Open Source release will happen as soon as we can finish cleaning up the code and will be released as Jive Messenger 2.0.

In the meantime, the final release of Jive Messenger 1.1 is now immediately available as a free binary. The 1.1 release has some very significant improvements including MUC, Service Discovery, Data Forms, and numerous bug fixes. A full changelog is at:

More information about the Open Source announcement and the 1.1 download can be found at http://www.jivesoftware.org.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to providing more details about the new features we have planned for Messenger.

Regards,

Matt
