Is SASL Anonymous subscribe broken?

I´m running OpenFire 3.6.4 with the embedded database.

Non anonymous can subscribe and publish. Anonymous users can publish but not subscribe.

Node information:

Publisher model: ‘open’

Specify who may subscribe and retrieve items: ‘open’

Allow subscriptions to node: ‘1’

New subscriptions require configuration: ‘0’

[…]

The error message:

Perhaps the (hidden) root node is the problem? But if it was, it should dictate the permissions, which does not seem to be the case.

Have I forgot to set the magic number?

I’ve got the same problem running Openfire 3.7.0 Beta. Any workaround on that?

No, and it turned out, at the time, that Openfire was discontinued. So
I simply switched XMPP server to use ejabbed instead, which worked
great.

I’ve got the same problem too (3.6.4). Any workarounds now? Is this fixed in 3.7.1?
