Sorry folks.  This turned out not to be an OpenFire issue.  Within the GoDaddy interface we were chosing the wrong type of cert to rekey using the CSR.  That's why we were getting the Invalid Key length.

Using the keytool we were able to generate a new key, generate a CSR, and use GoDaddy to get public key.  When we tried importing the CRT public key from GoDaddy we ran into another problem.  We can close this discussion.  I'll open a new discussion for our new problem.
