I saw something that mentioned that openfire is able to handle 50,000 active users concurrently. Was this test on a single server or was this done through a cluster?
That was the ONLY reason I began to considering eJabberd instead of Openfire. This is such good news because Openfire is a whole lot easier to manage and configure.
